課程概述 |
隨著全球化與國際遷移的擴張，穿透國界的不僅是資本、商品與勞動力，還包括各式各樣的觀念資訊、文化意識與社會連帶。彈性、流動的跨國共時狀態，不僅描述了移民的生活，也在一定程度上映現當代社會的文化地景。本課程將透過跨國遷移的研究視角，以及不同區域移民現象的經驗關注，批評傳統社會學所蘊含的「方法論的國族主義」的偏誤，重新反思家庭、認同、公民身份等概念。課程內容分為四部份：首先介紹研究國際遷移的不同理論典範與研究框架，其次檢視遷移經驗作為階級、性別、種族等社會界線交織的認同政治，第三部分討論遷移與跨國生活如何形塑伴侶、代間等家庭關係，第四部分探討地理國度、公民身份、族群界線的穿透與重構，尤其是近年來有關多元文化的爭議與辯論，與性別人權的可能矛盾。 |

課程目標 |
我們不崇尚高空比武式的讀書比賽，希望大家在閱讀過程中，跟自己關切的議題或未來的研究能有互動和對話。基本要求是：一定要讀書，無故不缺席。每個人都要事先閱讀相關文獻，並輪流主持討論、報告分析文本。本課程以十五人為限，人數有餘裕時可開放旁聽，旁聽生不是free-rider，請同樣繳交心得與參與口頭報告。
每週都要針對指定教材繳交一到兩頁的閱讀心得，簡要摘要該文的主要論點（不是翻譯，請指出作者的發問、對話對象、運用資料、回答方式及理論意義），你的看法（有哪些同意與不同意的地方、對你有怎樣的啟發），以及不太確定、想要進一歩討論的問題。請在上課當天十點前上傳到Ceiba，每週輪流由一位同學紀錄課堂討論要點，作為大家參考（請於課後一周內上傳到Ceiba）。 |

課程要求 |
分數怎麼算
1. 課堂參與討論、分組報告、輪流紀錄 30%
2. 每週閱讀心得 (800-1000字，請勿超過) 30%
3. 期末報告40%：請選擇一個與公民身份或多元文化有關的爭議（台灣或國外的政策、法律、事件都可以，如需要比較兩個相關爭議也可以），收集相關的新聞報導、學術討論，並運用本課程的概念與文獻來分析1)不同立場的意見以及辯論焦點，2)分析這些立場背後的預設與脈絡，3)提出你的意見與看法，4)思考值得開展的研究問題，或是對於在地社會的意義。文長為6000-8000字，超過部份不予計分。
